As an Artisan winery, Morovino carefully crafts a limited number of cases of quality wines that are distributed through the tasting room and the Club 550 wine club. These are wines that you cannot find at the local grocery store! Grapes are primarily sourced from Santa Barbara County and include fruit from some of the area’s most prestigious and established vineyards.
Morovino recently joined forces with the Haub Art Gallery to create a beautiful showcase for fine art and wine in Avila Beach. Visit the tasting room to see the constantly changing gallery of California artists in a variety of media including oil, watercolor, acrylic, jewelry and enamel.
OUR SIGNATURE WINES
Morovino features several signature wines in the Italian winemaking style:
Pinot Grigio: Clean, crisp and fruity, Pinot Grigio is fast becoming one of America’s most popular white wines. With hints of apple and pear, this wine is a great complement to light meals, salads or wonderful to sip by itself.
Barbera: Morovino offers two of these outstanding Northern Italian varietals. The ‘98 Barbera is in the Italian style called “Ligero” and is a light red reminiscent of a dry rose. The full-bodied ‘99 Barbera is robust and oaky, pairing very well with strongly flavored foods.
Sangiovese: This Chianti-style red wine is smooth, supple and easy to drink. With bright red cherry flavors and hints of Vanilla, it is a great wine to drink with Italian foods. Sangiovese is an excellent red wine for white wine drinkers. Tango: This 50/50 blend of ‘99 Merlot and ‘99 Zinfandel is rich, full-bodied and has excellent mouth feel. With rich red berry fruit and notes of toasted oak, this wine is the perfect accompaniment to lamb, roasted foods and red meats. Cosa Dolce: A light, sweet wine that is fragrant with apricots and floral notes. Its refreshing nature makes it a wonderful choice for a sunny afternoon. A blend of Alicante and Semillon grapes, Cosa Dolce pairs well with salads, appetizers, desserts and very hot spicy food.
CLUB 550
For wine lovers looking for an exceptional value, Morovino offers Club 550. Members can choose from quarterly wine shipments of either 2, 6 or 12 bottles of outstanding Morovino wines--including limited releases, library wines and special edition wines. Club 550 shipments range from $50 to $225, based on number of bottles and location of recipient.
